You understand all of it. And you are still stuck.

Stories and questions from a masked storyteller who doesn't give advice.

The mask

One eye reveals. One eye hides.

The mask is a real object, carved by hand. One side of it is open and one side is closed, which is the whole idea: protection and truth are not opposites, and neither are watching and being with someone.

Saor stays anonymous on purpose. There is no face to follow here, no story about a person who figured it out. What is left is the work.

He is not a guru. He is not perfect. He is you, with the mask on.

The work

Five things he keeps coming back to.

Everything he makes sits in one of these. None of them are lessons.

Human Mirror

Your own experience, said back to you plainly enough that you recognise it.

Harsh Truths with Love

The uncomfortable thing, said warmly. Never cruelly, and never from above.

Conversations that Awaken

Dialogue that opens something up instead of closing it with an answer.

Pain as Choice

What the struggle is actually made of, without pretending it is small.

Reflection Room

Quieter pieces. Somewhere to sit rather than somewhere to arrive.

The first finished thing

The Search for Freedom

The Search for Freedom — the journal's cover: a pale carved mask on near-black, above the title.

You have read enough. This asks you nothing you can answer from memory.

Fifty questions, across five parts. Each one needs you to stop and actually look, which is the only reason they land differently from the ones you have already answered in your head a hundred times.

  1. IThe Masks We Wear
  2. IIWhat Fear Made Us Forget
  3. IIIThe Return
  4. IVWalking Forward
  5. VThe Circle Widens

Ten questions, a reflection section, a small practice and a note from Saor in every part. A fillable PDF, yours to keep and to fill in as many times as you want to.

The journal isn't on sale yet. There is nowhere to pay for it today and nothing on this page is collecting your details. When it opens, it opens here.

The method

Light a candle. Wait five minutes.

Before each question, you light a candle and sit with it in silence for five minutes. No music, no notes, nothing to produce.

Five minutes is long enough to be uncomfortable, which is the point. What you write afterwards is not the same as what you would have written first.

If any of this landed

Nothing here needs you to come back.

Take the question, close the tab, and go and sit with it. If you want more of it later, it will be here. This was meant to resolve for you now, not to leave you hanging so that you return.

The videos aren't out yet. When they are, they will be linked from here.
